TAK is the Team Awareness Kit. In its simplest form, it lets you quickly see who and what is around you—drop markers to pinpoint areas of interest in real time, so every responder shares the same operational picture.

Originally developed by the U.S. Air Force Research Lab in 2010 to support special operations. Today, hundreds of thousands of military, federal, state, and local public safety personnel use TAK every single day.

Used in real Arizona operations: the Arizona Mills active-shooter response, the Charlie Kirk Memorial, Phoenix International Raceway, and the White Sage and Dragon Bravo wildfires—where TAK kept personnel accountable after LMR towers went down.

AZTAK is the server, infrastructure, and training that enables Arizona's first responders to use the federally-provided TAK apps: ATAK on Android, iTAK and TAK Aware on iOS, WinTAK, TAK X, and CloudTAK in any modern browser.

View responder locations over custom overlays of your choice. Layers can be toggled and customized to match the mission—parade routes, road closures, unit positions, and more.

AZTAK connects with CAD systems, covert trackers, Axon body cameras, and unmanned aerial systems. One screen, every data feed—right where you need it.

Channels filter who sees you and who you see. Statewide and county mutual-aid channels are automatically available; agency channels stay private to your team. Agency administrators control assignments through the AZTAK Portal.

AZTAK can be integrated with UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) to provide situational awareness of UAS in the airspace. This is a capability that is not available in other systems.

AZTAK is a tool to help you share information with your team and partner agencies in the state of Arizona. It does not seek to replace radio communication or existing CAD systems, but to serve as a complement to them for interoperability and situational awareness.

AZTAK is provided at no cost, funded and operated by the Maricopa and Coconino County Sheriff's Offices. Built and supported by Arizona sworn peace officers, with 24x7 tech support and direct liaison support for briefings and training.
